The Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, formerly called SidaContributions to Botany, publishes research in classical and modern systematic botany—including studies of anatomy, biogeography, chemotaxonomy, ecology, evolution, floristics, genetics, paleobotany, palynology, and phylogenetic systematics. Geographic coverage is global. Articles are published in either English or Spanish; an abstract is provided in two languages. All contributions are peer reviewed and frequently illustrated with maps, line drawings, and full color photographs.

 (formerly Sida, Contributions to Botany) is an international journal of systematic botany containing primary research papers sensu lato, including anatomy, biogeography, chemotaxonomy, cladistics, ecology, floristics, genetics & evolution, morphology, numerical taxonomy, paleobotany, and palynology. It is produced by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT), a non-profit international scientific research and learning center focused on conservation and knowledge sharing.
