El botánico Cyrus G. Pringle recogido plantas en los estados del oeste de Estados Unidos y México entre 1881 y 1884, luego distribuyó sus especímenes como ‘Flora of the Pacific Slope’. La mayoría de esas colecciones que eran tipos nomenclaturales de plantas vasculares se han discutido en otra parte.
