Resumen

Eleocharis elegans (Cyperaceae), una cárice de humedales neotropicales, se cita como nueva para los Estados Unidos de una localidad en el condado de Hardee, Florida. Cierto número de factores sugieren que representa una existencia natural. Especulamos que factores relacionados con el cambio climático tales como el incremento en la frecuencia de tormentas serias ofrece la explicación más lógica de su llegada a los Estados Unidos.
