Abstract

The census was conducted through an extensive consultation of literature and various websites. The presence of 216 angiosperm genera was found whose representatives are only known from the territory of Mexico. The areas with the highest concentration of regional endemics at the generic level are the state of Oaxaca, the Baja California Peninsula, the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental. Among other informative data, the inventory revealed ten genera whose species appear to be obligate inhabitants of soils derived from gypseous rocks.
